Your skin is an amazing living organ. Basically it is your skin that protects all your internal organs. It protects by covering the organs and by only allowing certain substances to pass the epidermis.

Your skin will readily allow water to pass through, because the molecules are small enough. Esssential oils and natural oils will also pass through because the molecules are small enough. Different natural oils absorb into the skin at different rates, and this is good because it will not cause an overload on your skin. Your skin can only absorb so much. True Story - I purchased a skin care range from France, the advertising claims about this range were fantastic and I thought I had finally found the answer. After waiting patiently they arrived, I couldn't wait to try them out. Well, within 2 minutes of applying the eye cream my skin was burning, 12 hours later it looked red as, it had been burn't by the chemicals in the cream, now I do not have sensitive skin at all. The face moisturisers were not much better and after a month there was no difference in my skin, I was so disappointed. But (and this is not an advertising tale), after using Missai for a month I definitely noticed the difference in my skin, it was clearer, brighter and readily accepted the products. I used to have my doubts about natural products, and believed the advertising of commercial products and thought they had to to be the answer. Wrong. I have been converted. I am angry at myself for having spent an overseas holiday on commercial skin care products.

My skincare regime is now, cleanse, serum, moisturiser morning and night. I love the feel of my skin after the products have absorbed, so soft and it feels good. I designed the products to suit my skin by selecting the essential oils to address the issues I had with my skin - wrinkles appearing, thread veins and nourishment. In the shower, the body scrub comes out, love the smell and they way my skin feels after I used it and I don't need to moisturise after I have used it either, the oils in the scrub have absorbed right in and you will feel that with no greasy or oily residue.

I was so converted that I have now gone back to University and am completing a Diploma of Aromatherapy. I wanted to know more because I think what information I had about essential oils at that time was just the tip of the iceberg and I was right.
